Helpful Tips

*Firm pear is best to keep it’s form but still needs to be ripe & juicy for sweetness.

If you want a bit more sweetness you can add a drizzle of honey over the goat’s cheese.

There are a variety of pears available in Australia, I have used red pears here.

I sometimes find Serrano ham to be softer and easier to work with than prosciutto.

You want to wrap them in such a way, that all your beautiful ingredients are visible.

Goats cheese can be polarising so you can substitute with marinated feta if you prefer.

You can use basil, however sage, pear and goat’s cheese are a perfect match.

Rocket (arugula) is another alternative to sage.

Balsamic glaze (balsamic reduction) is a must for this dish to tie it all together.

You can drizzle balsamic glaze on top or use disposable pipettes as pictured, (which will add 15mins to prep time).

Balsamic glaze is a sweeter and thicker consistency so it doesn’t run off your food (or food) the same as Balsamic vinegar does.

Great on salads, meat, roast veges, cheese and crackers, balsamic glaze is readily available at the supermarket & is a staple beauty in my household.

Mini pipettes are a versatile and clever addition to any kitchen or dining experience.

Not only perfect for balsamic glaze, but they can also be used for an array of sauces such as raspberry sauce, chocolate sauce, lemon curd, salad dressing, soy sauce, basil oil, chilli oil, or sriracha.

This innovative tool allows for precise portion control, adding a unique touch to the presentation of your dishes.

Your guests can personalise their meals by adding as little or as much sauce as they desire, without creating any unnecessary mess.

Buying pipettes in bulk online, such as in quantities of 200, ensures you have an ample supply for all your culinary adventures.

You can also purchase mixed bulk bundle pipettes (rectangular, star, flower, heart, round).

Discover the endless possibilities that mini pipettes offer and revolutionise the way you serve and enjoy your favourite dishes.

…an air of refinement

Wine Pairing Suggestions:

Chardonnay (oaked): A rich, oaked Chardonnay can provide a buttery and creamy texture that pairs well with the blue cheese.

Pinot Noir: A light to medium-bodied Pinot Noir can be a good choice with its red fruit flavours and balanced acidity, enhancing the overall experience without overpowering the delicate flavours.

Merlot: A soft and approachable Merlot can complement the sweetness of the pear while being smooth enough not to overshadow the blue cheese and prosciutto.

Brut Champagne or Prosecco: The effervescence and acidity of a sparkling wine can cut through the richness of the blue cheese and prosciutto, while the dryness complements the sweetness of the pear.
